Repairs set to begin Sunday night to a major water main that services Padre Island were delayed because of needed parts.
On Sunday, the contractor leading the project discovered more parts were needed that wouldn’t arrive until Monday, according to a city news release.
Once the parts arrive the repairs can begin Monday night.
That means water service to the island will be temporarily turned off.
However, water in the Coral Vine Elevated Water Storage Tank and the Sand Dollar Ground tanks has “ample” water during the overnight construction. Still, residents should conserve water during overnight on Monday.
